2007 - 2008 Board of Directors

Alona Bin-Nun was born in Jerusalem to a family of Polish and Bulgarian roots. She served in the IDF as an officer for four years. After her military service she graduated from the medical school of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. She was certified as a pediatrician in Shaare Zedek medical center in Jerusalem and is now doing her fellowship in neonatology at the Children's Hospital of the University of Chicago.

Alona is married to Shahar, whom she knows since high school. They are proud to send their three boys to Akiba-Schechter for the third year: Adam in the 4th grade, Ohad in the 2nd grade and Amit in Kindergarten. The whole family enjoys the outdoors: traveling, camping, hiking and biking. They love Chicago but had a difficult time to adjust to the winter.
