2007 - 2008 Board of Directors

David Given, born and raised in East Chicago, Indiana, attended Hebrew school at his local synagogue, Congregation B'nai Shalom where he studied with Rabbi Julius Shuback, z"l. He graduated high school from the Latin School of Chicago and earned his BA at The American University in Washington, D.C.

David spent five years at XJD Corp. before the company was sold and he began working for State of Israel Bonds in Chicago. After promoting the economic security of Israel for eleven years, David worked as Director of Development for The Associated Talmud Torahs of Chicago in 2004. Since 2006 he has been Property Manager at One River Place Condominium Association.

David and his wife Nancy have resided in the West Loop/Greektown area of Chicago for nearly 14 years. They chose to send their daughter, Hannah, to Akiba-Schechter starting in pre-kindergarten. She is now a very happy fifth grader. David has become an increasingly active member of the school community over the last 3 years, volunteering to help with various projects and activities. He joined the Board in 2004 and now serves as Treasurer.
