2007 - 2008 Board of Directors

Larry White and his family moved from Lincoln Park to Hyde Park in 2003 to be closer to Akiba, which his children Lena, Abi and Samantha all attend. Larry was raised in Columbus, Ohio and moved to Chicago following law school. He and his wife Stefanie have been active members of the Akiba community for several years and Larry currently serves on the Finance Committee and as the Board Secretary.

In his other life, Larry is a partner in the Municipal Department at Chapman and Cutler LLP, and has been practicing law since 1990. He serves as bond counsel and underwriter's counsel to governmental entities throughout the State of Illinois on a wide variety of municipal financing.

In addition, Larry is a frequent speaker on municipal finance topics. Larry has focused his practice on Illinois governmental obligation transactions, including financing for Illinois school districts, park districts, cities, villages, libraries and fire protection districts. In addition, he is the lead attorney in the firm's bond counsel representation of the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, the entity in Illinois responsible for creating a secondary market for higher education student loans and one of the lead attorneys in the firm's bond counsel representation of the Regional Transportation Authority, the planning and oversight Authority for mass transit in the Chicago metropolitan area.

Larry was named as one of the 2005 "40 Under Forty" lawyers to watch in Illinois by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company. He served as Assistant Legal Counsel to Speaker Michael J. Madigan during the 1991 and 1992 spring legislative sessions of the Illinois House of Representatives. Larry is also a Certified Public Accountant. He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in 1990 and a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin in 1987.
