Neil Stempel has been a Member of the Board and Chairman of the Building Committee since 1999, when his sons Joseph and Jordan attended pre-school at Akiba Schechter. Neil has been instrumental in the master planning, design, and construction of the Akiba Schechter campus expansion. He is currently Vice President at The Beitler Company, one of Chicago’s leading real estate development firms. At The Beitler Company, Neil is responsible for all tenant improvement work, as well as core and shell construction. As a registered architect with a Masters Degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and over 20 years of experience in architecture, construction management and real estate development, Mr. Stempel has a unique and diverse background.
Prior to joining the Beitler Company, Mr. Stempel was associated with Moshe
Safdie & Associates (a world renowned architecture firm) and later with
one of the country’s top general contractors. He has practiced architecture
in the United States, Europe and the Middle East, and managed a Chicago-based
construction company. Mr. Stempel has experience with new construction,
redevelopment of existing properties, and architectural preservation. He
has managed the development of commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects
from land acquisition through occupancy. In addition, he has taught architectural
design and construction technology in Boston and Chicago.
