Being flexible and sensitive is essential to being an effective early childhood teacher. A sense of humor also goes a long way in all sorts of circumstance in the classroom. I always try to have as much fun as the children.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from Hunter College in NYC. I am pursuing a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education at Erikson Institute. I have worked with children from age six weeks through 12 years in a variety of settings. For example, before coming to Akiba in 2002 I was a foster care caseworker in Chicago. I was born in Champaign, Illinois.

I love story telling and books. I also play the piano, which is fun to incorporate into the classroom.
