Peach Room, Kindergarten

I am passionate about everything I do in my life, especially teaching. I want to put my entire heart into my work to show others how much I care about them. While in  the classroom, I love to have fun. Being silly while singing and dancing are some of my favorite things to do. I truly enjoy each moment I spend in the classroom. I love to learn while encouraging those around to  become as excited about school as I am.

This is my second year at Akiba Schechter. Prior to joining Akiba, I
spent a year teaching at the Florence Heller JCC. Before that, I
attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa where I majored in
Elementary Education with a minor in English.

I moved to Chicago about four years ago, and fell in love with the
city. I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and  enjoy going back to
spend time with my family  whenever possible. One of my very favorite things to do is read adolescent literature. I can spend hours in a bookstore exploring old and new books.  I enjoy bringing a story to life in a way that may not have been done before. Seeing the
imagination of a child taking off as I read a book to them is amazing.
Reading is just one of my passions. I also enjoy traveling, cooking,
and rock climbing.
